The Planning Commission meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 pm in the Blair City Council Chambers.

Responsibilities

The Blair Planning Commission shall make and adopt plans for the physical development of the City, including any areas outside its boundaries, which, in the Commission's judgement, bear relation to the planning of the Municipality and including a comprehensive development plan. The Mayor and City Council shall not hold public meetings or take action on matters relating to the comprehensive development plan, capital improvements, building codes, subdivision development or zoning until it has received the recommendation from the Planning Commission.

The Commission is made up of nine members who shall represent different professions or occupations in the Municipality and who shall be appointed by the Mayor by and with three-fourths vote of the Council. Two such members may be residents of the area over which the City is authorized to exercise extraterritorial zoning and subdivision regulations. All members serve without compensation and shall hold no other Municipal office except when appointed to serve on the Board of Adjustment. The term of each member shall be three years and three members of the Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor and Council.
