Contractor Registration

Registration is by calendar year (January through December) with renewal required each January. Contractors who register in December will automatically receive registration through December of the following year.

Nebraska Contractor Registration Act

The Nebraska Contractor Registration Act requires contractors and subcontractors doing business in Nebraska to register with the Nebraska Department of Labor. Contractors registering with the City of Blair must provide proof of current Nebraska Department of Labor registration. Visit the Department of Labor website.

Certificate Holder

General Contractors must ensure that "City of Blair" is listed as the Certificate Holder on the required Certificate of Liability. Contractors providing Permit Bonds should ensure that they are be made in favor of "City of Blair" (the obligee).

Electrical, Plumbing or Mechanical Journeyman or Apprentice	$25	n/a	Master must already be licensed with the City of Blair. Electrical Journeyman or Apprentice must submit a copy of current State Electrical Card.
Water Service Line Installer	$60	$5,000	Proof of 3 years experience working under a Master, minimum 70% score attained on City administered test, and approval by Blair Licensing Board. Submit a copy of current Nebraska Department of Labor Contractor Registration.
