The City Council adopts ordinances and resolutions, approves the general goals and policies of the City, authorizes budgetary appropriations, and approves the appointment of various offices.

A resolution generally states a position or policy of the City. An ordinance is a local law that usually regulates persons or property and usually relates to a matter of a general and permanent nature. Therefore, an ordinance is more formal and authoritative than a resolution.
City Council Meetings
Regular City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Council meetings begins at 7:00 p.m. and are held in the Council Chambers at Blair City Hall (218 S 16th Street).
